Candy Corn

Product Type:Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 8 fl oz (237 ml) can
BevNET Review: This is without a doubt the best tasting novelty soda that Jones has put out to date. Unlike Mashed Potato or Turkey & Gravy, Candy Corn is one of those flavors that's actually somewhat appealing and flavorful. The sweet butterscotch flavor is strong, but the small 8 ounce size makes it one that is most definitely consumable. The downside is the coloring -- it really stains your mouth. Still, it's a good flavor and definitely a good use of the Jones brand.Reviewed on: 9/26/2005

Caramel Apple

Product Type:Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 8 fl oz (237 ml) can
BevNET Review: There are some similarities between this product and its namesake: for example, they both taste like apples, and they are both likely to really hurt your teeth if you consume enough of them. But things pretty much end there. Caramel apples taste like caramel when you bite into them, and then you hit the apple. Here, the apple is there, and there’s a slight caramel scent, but then it’s just a little bit of a burnt sugar aftertaste. But with Jones’ novelty sodas, taste is only half the purpose, marketing buzz is the rest. These 8-oz. cans, obviously designed to be passed out to trick-or-treaters (don’t swing that bag, kids!) or for Halloween parties, certainly take care of the other half. As always, a slick move by Jones that has been thought through much more completely than the taste.Reviewed on: 9/20/2005

Scary Berry Lemonade

Product Type:Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 8 fl oz (237 ml) can
BevNET Review: Hey, not bad. We’d actually drink this after Halloween. This is a sweet, almost herbal carbonated berry lemonade soda that skimps on the sourness but doesn’t come out too syrupy. The color on this seasonal novelty soda is a bizarre translucent blue and the can has a cute Jack O’Lantern. Kids had better not expect this stuff when they’re trick-or-treating – we’re keeping this one for ourselves.Reviewed on: 9/26/2005

Strawberry Slime

Product Type:Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 8 fl oz (237 ml) can
BevNET Review: This isn’t just a good novelty soda, this is one of the best strawberry-flavored sodas we’ve tasted, although there’s a bit too strong of a corn-syrupiness to the finish. If Jones meant to scare us off, they haven’t, because this is basically a traditional-tasting strawberry soda with a bit of cream in the profile. Its squat Halloween-orange can and seasonal availability make this one to catch. If you get it trick-or-treating, though, make sure you either eat the Pop Rocks OR drink the soda, and don’t do it together, kids.Reviewed on: 9/26/2005
