F Bomb

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 oz Can
BevNET Review: Despite the obvious connotation in the name, Rip It F Bomb refers to the fact that this is a fruit flavored offering. There's a rather pleasant fruit punch flavor inside the can, but it's one that we feel like we've had in many products that have come before it. So, while it's not a very original offering, it's still one that makes sense as part of the Rip It line. And, it's definitely a very drinkable and enjoyable flavor. Functionally, the product packs some punch, with 210mg of caffeine per can as well as taurine, inositol, guarana, and B vitamins. Packaging is a somewhat minimalist looking effort, at least in terms of what's out there on the energy drink shelves today. They've utilized an orange and red backdrop with silver, black, and blue on the front of the can. The F Bomb logo is somewhat small, but they've put fruit imagery below it to let the consumer know that this is a fruit flavored offering. From our perspective, this product fits the bill of what an energy drink should be, both in terms of flavor and energy ingredients. However, there's nothing really to get excited about when it comes to this product — neither the design or the flavor add anything new to the category. Overall, a worthy entry…nothing more, nothing less. Reviewed on: 11/1/2010

Lime Wrecker

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 fl oz (355 ml) can
BevNET Review: Lime Wrecker is definitely the sweetest tasting flavor of the current Rip It lineup. Featuring a candy-like citrus flavor, Lime Wrecker is perhaps the most mainstream flavor in the lineup. It will be familiar to anyone who has tried Mountain Dew or similar citrus-based CSDs. In addition, the bright green can is eye-catching, but the placement of the flavor name and small lime images might be easy to miss. However, we think that most people will still figure it out as green is the universal beverage color for citrus. Seriously though, this product is a good addition to the Rip It brand -- definitely worth a try.Reviewed on: 1/31/2006

Atomic Pom

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 fl oz (355 ml) can
BevNET Review: Wow, this is undoubtedly the best version of Rip It that we've had to date. Featuring an original flavor -- rather than the Red Bull-style that so many companies use -- A'Tomic Pom is a product that will definitely appeal to consumers that are looking for something new and refreshing. The flavor itself is a tart, berry-like flavor that's intended to be similar to a pomegranate. It's a pretty good rendition, but a bit sweeter and less tart than a real juice blend would be. Overall, a great tasting product that packs a nice punch. The only thing that would be nice is a more prominent placement of the flavor name -- it's pretty easy to miss on the bottom portion of the can.Reviewed on: 1/30/2006

Rip It Citrus X Sugar Free

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 fl oz (473 ml) can
BevNET Review: This is a very soda-like energy drink with a strong orange color, little carbonation, and a nice combination of artificial flavorings and citrus taste, with a real citric acid bite at the end. The splenda and ace-K used to sweeten it are a little heavy and left a bit of an aftertaste. In all, it’s a fair effort, but the can could use some tweaking to make it stand out from the other flavors -- and the competition. It’s a pretty worthy entry into the value brand category, but some slight tweaks in flavor would make this a truly superb product.Reviewed on: 1/23/2006

Rip It Citrus X

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 fl oz (355 ml) can
BevNET Review: For an energy drink, this is actually a very tasty orange soda. While we wish they hadn’t used high-fructose corn syrup, RipIt is a value brand and probably wants to hold the line on price. Regardless, it’s a pretty tasty combination of sweetness and citrus flavor, without the medicinal properties of a normal energy drink but with a lot more carbonation. RipIT’s gray can also represents a big step up from the sugar-free version’s naked aluminum color scheme. In all, a nice energy drink with some potential among soda lovers.Reviewed on: 6/22/2005

Rip It Energy Fuel

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 oz can
BevNET Review: Rip It Energy Fuel is a new entry into the 16 ounce energy drink category. Featuring a mild berry-bubblegum flavor that has almost no aftertaste, Rip It is surprisingly easy to drink. The body of the product has a moderate level of carbonation which helps to hide the slightly syrupy consistency. The packaging of the product is clean in its execution, but it doesn't necessarily stand out from the other products in this crowded category. What does stand out is Rip It's price. With an SRP of $.99, Rip It is less than half the cost of the market-leading 16 ounce energy drinks. As such, Rip It should strongly appeal to value conscious consumers. It willl also likely appeal to athletes (due to the use of the word "fuel"). Overall, this product is a good entry into the category that should achieve decent success within National Beverage's existing distributor / retailer base.Reviewed on: 8/9/2004

Rip It Energy Lite

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 16 oz can
BevNET Review: Rip It Lite is a good quality zero calorie, sugar free energy drink that has a refreshing and surprisingly clean flavor. The formulation uses the base berry flavor from the regular version and is sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose. These two sweeteners give the product a slight aftertaste, but it's on par with other energy drinks that use these sweeteners. The overall flavor of Rip It Lite is refreshing and is a good choice for consumers seeking a sugar free energy drink at a reasonable price (Rip It Lite costs less than half the typical retail price of the leading 16 energy drink brands). As for areas that could be improved, the packaging could be improved in our opinion. Specifically, it's somewhat difficult to distinguish the lite and original varieties as neither product says "Lite" or "Regular" on it. Otherwise, a decent energy drink.Reviewed on: 8/9/2004
