BevNET Review: Starbucks Doubleshot is by far the most potent RTD iced coffee we've ever sampled. It's made with nonfat milk, espresso, cream, and sugar and has a very rich and creamy taste. The coffee is quite strong -- but what did you expect from a product called Doubleshot? We have mixed feelings on this product. First of all, the burnt taste of the milk (from pasteurization) gives the coffee a slightly rough taste. You'll get used to it, but it's still noticeable. Second, why does one need this product? After all, when does anyone have trouble finding a Starbucks to get a fresh brewed coffee. Overall, it's good, but we'd rather have the real thing.Reviewed on: 8/16/2006

BevNET Review: We had a bit of trepidation with regards to this product, but the Doubleshot Light managed to put them at ease with its creamy texture and strong, smooth espresso taste. Our chief bit of concern surrounded the use of sucralose as the sweetener, and it was borne out to some extent – the chemical aftertaste was fairly strong. Nevertheless, it’s a nice choice for caffeine on the go – 70 calories gets you two shots of espresso in a fairly pleasant drink. The packaging is attractive – with its prominent Starbucks logo, tan and brown coloring, it looks like a lovely café au lait. Too bad they haven’t come up with a fine canned version of THAT.Reviewed on: 8/23/2006
