Review: Pink Chia
(Last Updated: Jun 18, 2014 at 12:23 PM)Unlike most other flavors of Clover, which are made only with raw juice, this particular variety was crafted a bit differently. It blends water, chia seeds, prickly pear, lemon, mint and coconut nectar into something that’s much more watery in nature. The flavor of this product is quite subtle, with mellow prickly pear and lemon flavors finishing up with some mint. We couldn’t really taste the coconut nectar, but the chew of the chia is a nice addition. We’d love to know the nutritional content (which isn’t printed on the bottle since it’s only sold in Clover retail stores). Packaging a 16 oz. squarish bottle, just the same as is used on the company's other flavors. This has rapidly become the standard bottle for the category, which is fine, but it puts extra pressure of the marketers of juice products to make their product stand out. While Clover has certainly created something that’s simple and easy to understand, we do think that more could be done to visually differentiate the product -- especially if the company ever takes its brand out of its own retail outlets. Overall, Pink Chia is an enjoyable product that is a nice departure from Clover's other flavors.
