BevNET Review

Chia is an ingredient that hasn’t previously been used in Purity Organic beverages, so we were rather excited to give this product a try. Using an 80 percent juice blend that includes apple juice, banana puree, blackberry juice, red beet pure, fresh pressed ginger juice and blueberry juice, there are several fruit flavors to this product beyond the blackberry apple that is advertised. Specifically, banana is something that’s a big part of the flavor profile of this product, making it something that ultimately borders on tasting like a smoothie both in terms of its flavor and the slight thickness that it imparts. Still, you can taste plenty of the apple and blackberry, and we like the ginger note that hits your tongue as a final note. As for the chia, it’s ground rather than whole and the company has done a nice job of keeping it evenly dispersed throughout the product. The combination of the fruit juices and the chia is really quite nice and one of the more unique combinations that’s currently available in this product line. All of this is packaged up in a 14 oz. glass bottle, which has the same style as the other flavors. It’s certainly a very nice looking label, although we find the “superjuice” band along the bottom to be a slight visual distraction from the white part of the label. However, we think that consumers will figure this product out pretty quickly as the text is arranged in an intuitive manner. All in all, Blackberry Apple Chia is a well-executed and polished looking product that is one of the more unique flavors in the Purity Organic line.
