Review: Spicy Lemonade

For Suja’s “Organic 3-Day Fresh Start” flavors of its Essentials line, it certainly makes sense to have a riff on a master cleanse drink. And that’s exactly what Spicy Lemonade is: a mix of water, maple syrup, lemon juice, and cayenne. Compared with other versions of this that we’ve had (including the variety that’s part of Suja’s “Classic” line), this variety is less intense in terms of its spice. It’s definitely something that was formulated with the mainstream in mind (after all, it’s launching in Costco), and you could certainly drink it simply for the refreshment factor. Beyond that, the look of the product is very much in line with the Suja Essentials subline, the design of which is our favorite of Suja's three lines. We like the prime placement of the USDA Organic and Non-GMO Verified logos, but the “Cold Pressured” badge feels slightly out of place. Maybe that will change over time, but regardless, it’s a lemonade and we don’t feel as though this is as relevant as it is for its other varieties. Overall, we like this product and feel as though it’s a good choice whether you are looking to do a cleanse or are simply looking for refreshment.
