Feel like enjoying a gin and tonic fit for royalty? Now you can, with Buckingham Palace’s new ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail.
The Royal Collection Trust, a charitable branch of the monarchy, debuted the Buckingham Palace Gin & Tonic on Tuesday, a 250ml 6.8% ABV canned cocktail combining the palace’s dry gin with tonic water.
The RTD joins a lineup of gins and whiskys from the British monarchy and, like the bottled Buckingham Palace Dry Gin, the cocktail features botanicals from the palace grounds, including bay leaves, lemon verbena, and mulberry leaves.
Launched in 2020, the Buckingham Palace Dry Gin initially sold out within hours of its release, but consumers and retailers may have more luck accessing the RTD. A newly granted wholesale license will allow the royal spirits range to reach external partners beyond palace shops and cafes. The debut aligns with the royal grounds opening the gates for summer tourist season.
“The convenient can format of our Buckingham Palace Gin & Tonic in a Tin will mean even more people can taste our classic gin, uniquely infused with ingredients from the beautiful garden at Buckingham Palace,” said Kaneesha Bose, head of central retail for the Royal Collection Trust in a statement.
Other spirits from the Trust include Buckingham Palace Sloe Gin, Pink Windsor Castle Gin, Palace of Holyroodhouse Dry Gin, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The Buckingham Palace Gin & Tonic retails for $10.65 each.
