Temple Turmeric: Mexican Chocolate Super Blend

The Mexican Chocolate variety of Temple Turmeric’s Super Blends is, much like its predecessor (when the brand was known as Tumeric Alive), a play on a spiced chocolate drink. Much like the Temple's other Super Blend varieties, this one has been rebranded and the liquid has been thinned out. The company has also added two new ingredients, chia seeds and strawberries, to the mix. While the chia seeds, which are in ground form, don’t noticeably impact the flavor, the strawberry adds a note of flavor that’s hard to miss. It pairs quite nicely with the other ingredients, which include turmeric, cacao, honey, cayenne, cinnamon, salt, hemp seeds, coconut milk and banana. The end result is something that has notes of sweet, salty, spice, and chocolate. We really enjoyed the original formulation, but this is definitely a nice step forward. On the packaging front, we really like the look of this and all of the Temple Turmeric Super Blends. It’s text-heavy, but transparent in its approach to how it communicates with the consumer. Overall, a very nice evolution for this product.
