Green Shoots and PurBlu Have Signed Investment and Distribution Agreements

South San Francisco, Calif. – November 22, 2010 – Green Shoots Distribution today announced several milestones in the company’s mission to become the leading national DSD distributor for natural food and beverage brands. 

The company recently completed a $1 million Series-A round of financing led by PurBlu Brands, an emerging creator and marketer of natural beverages. As a result, Green Shoots further strengthens its position as the go-to-market partner for unique brands seeking to rapidly reach their market potential via Green Shoots’ innovative distribution and brand incubation platform. 

As part of the financing agreement, Green Shoots also secures exclusive distribution rights to PurBlu’s GIVE Water and GIVE Energy lines in the core natural markets across the country.  A pioneer of cause-driven beverages, GIVE has triggered a movement of consumer philanthropy, donating 10 cents per bottle to local charities in communities where GIVE is sold. GIVE Energy is the fastest growing brand in the functional beverage category as reported by SPINS, a market research firm that tracks the natural products channel. 

Together, through the new investment and distribution agreement, Green Shoots and PurBlu are combining their non-traditional models to create a powerful new force in the beverage industry.
