Icelandic Glacial Lands Agreement with Leading Travel Concessionaire

ÖLFUS, Iceland (April 7, 2010) – Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of award-winning, CarbonNeutral® natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, announces today that the company has signed an agreement with retail travel concessions company HMSHost Corporation.

Effective immediately, Icelandic Glacial water from Iceland will be available through 152 HMSHost retail newsstands and convenience stores in major airports and motorway travel plazas across the U.S.

“Icelandic Glacial’s partnership with HMSHost will deliver our natural spring water from Iceland to dozens of prestigious locations around the United States,” said Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial. “By supplying water to HMSHost retail outlets, Icelandic Glacial offers travellers an environmentally responsible and refreshing bottled water option while they are on the road.”

The scope of the partnership spans 23 major U.S. airports, including Washington Dulles International, Miami International and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and 12 state motorways, including the New Jersey Turnpike and New York Thruway.

“HMSHost is committed to sustainability and lessening our environmental impact as much as possible,” said Joan Ryzner, senior vice president, HMSHost Retail. “By partnering with Icelandic Glacial we’ve not only chosen a company with a superior product offering but also added another like-minded business to our portfolio of sustainable suppliers. Several years ago, we created our StartSomewhere® program to educate our own employees as well as consumers on the importance of reducing waste, using recyclable packaging materials and reusing of materials whenever possible. We’re delighted to welcome Icelandic Glacial into this program.”

As the world’s first CarbonNeutral® certified bottled spring water for both product and operations, Icelandic Glacial delivers a water of exceptional purity to consumers with a “net zero” carbon footprint.

The agreement with HMSHost’s retail division follows on the heels of Europe’s leading food and beverage consultancy, Zenith International, declaring Icelandic Glacial’s water source certifiably sustainable.
