Boxed Water Partners with Banana Republic

LOS ANGELES – Boxed Water, an eco-friendly and BPA-free packaged water, today announced its partnership with global apparel and accessories brand, Banana Republic, for its product to be featured in the windows of 11 flagship Banana Republic stores across the U.S. and Canada in June. Throughout the month at these stores, customers will also receive free samples of 500 ml sized Boxed Water.  According to the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), only about 13 percent of the plastic bottles used today get recycled, the remainder clogging landfills. Boxed Water offers a better alternative to wasteful plastic water bottles.

“We’re excited to partner with Boxed Water to raise awareness around sustainability” said Aimee Lapic, SVP and GM of Customer Experience at Banana Republic. “’Banana Republic’s intent is a small, but important step forward to be more conscious about the environmental impact we all have in our daily lives.”

“Our partnership with Banana Republic demonstrates how fashion and design can help to communicate a positive environmental message,” said Jeremy Adams, Vice President of Marketing for Boxed Water. “We hope our partnership helps to educate consumers on the power of small every-day decisions and highlights that replacing plastic water bottles with Boxed Water is a great way to reduce your environmental footprint.”

Triple filtered for purity, Boxed Water sets itself apart with packaging that’s made from over 75 percent paper, is recyclable and 100 percent BPA free. Flat shipping to their filling plants and the boxes’ square shape also reduce shipping waste and carbon footprint. For Boxed Water, the product is only one part of its mission. One percent of revenues annually are dedicated to reforestation and global water relief.

The Boxed Water partnership with Banana Republic comes on the heels of Boxed Water’s national distribution in more than 400 Target stores. Boxed Water, offered in 500ml, 500ml 6 packs and 1-liter boxes, is available at multiple retail channels nationwide. To learn more about Boxed Water’s marketing initiatives or purchase product, visit www.boxedwater.com.

About Boxed Water

Boxed Water is a sustainable packaged-water company that enables socially conscious consumption by re-thinking the way water is sold, shipped and consumed. Founded in 2009, Boxed Water is an alternative to bottled water that is built on three principles: sustainability, efficiency and philanthropy. Each carton is recyclable and made using renewable paper from certified, well-managed forests. Boxed Water has also reduced its carbon footprint and increased efficiency by shipping its cartons flat to its plants to be filled. Once filled, its square-shape reduces shipping waste versus round bottles, reducing the number of trucks needed to transport the product. The company currently has offices in Grand Rapids, Mich. and Los Angeles, and is currently produced and filled in Holland, Mich.
