BodyArmor and Kobe Bryant Launch Marketing Campaign

WHITESTONE, N.Y. — BODYARMOR Sports Drink and Academy Award Winner and #3 BODYARMOR shareholder, Kobe Bryant, today announced the launch of the brand’s newest ad campaign consisting of four television spots, digital creative, billboards and radio executions. The campaign, which is BODYARMOR’s largest campaign to-date, is the mastermind of Bryant, who concepted, co-directed and wrote all the television commercials.

The campaign features NBA MVP-candidate James Harden, Kristaps Porzingis, Mike Trout and Skylar Diggins-Smith – and communicates clearly the need for athletes to evolve all aspects of their game in order to compete, including their choice of sports drink. BODYARMOR, with natural flavors & sweeteners, potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water, vitamins and no colors from artificial sources, provides superior hydration for today’s athletes.

The first national airing of the TV campaign will debut on Wednesday, April 18th during the NBA Playoffs on TNT featuring James Harden. Links to all spots can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHr2c27rNE3sj4SSWxU3nfA

The launch of the campaign comes at a pivotal time in BODYARMOR’s growth. In 2017, BODYARMOR was a $235 million retail brand closing out the year with a five (5) share of the sports drink category at convenience, when other sports drink were declining. BODYARMOR started 2018 strong, going from 15 SKUS in 2017 to 30 SKUS currently, which include BODYARMOR sports drink, BODYARMOR LYTE low-calorie/low sugar sports drink and BODYARMOR SportWater – and the brand is currently a 6 share in convenience channel. In addition, BODYARMOR will be adding 20,000 new retail locations to its list of available outlets in the month of April – including 7-Eleven, Walmart and Walgreens stores nationwide.

BODYARMOR is the fastest growing sports drink in the category, having seen a 110% increase in sales from last year. The consumer demand for a better-for-you sports drink has made BODYARMOR the third-largest sports drink in the U.S. Kobe Bryant is the number three shareholder in BODYARMOR
