Distribution Roundup: Yerbaé Partners with Pepsi-Cola Bottling of New York

Yerbaé Partners with Pepsi-Cola Bottling of New York

Yerbaé Enhanced Sparkling Water announced this week it has partnered with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of New York (PCNY) to distribute the brand’s line of natural energy drinks in 16 oz. cans in the New York metro area.

CEO Todd Gibson said the partnership is expected to expand Yerbaé to “thousands” of stores including up-and-down the street accounts, regional grocers such as City Market and national chains including Walmart.

PCNY will carry four of Yerbaé’s seven varieties, including Mango Passionfruit, Watermelon Strawberry, Black Cherry Pineapple and Iced Triple Berry. According to Gibson, the brand will support the rollout by tapping into its network of social media influencers and offering contests and giveaways with retailers.

“For a company like ours to be as young as we are — we’re a three year old company — to be partnering with such an amazing organization right there in New York City, this is going to take our brand light years ahead,” Gibson said. “The competitive price structure that we’ll be able to have in place by utilizing all the resources Pepsi brings to the marketplace, our company will stand to benefit significantly.”

Gibson said Yerbaé is currently available in 17 states nationwide and has a DSD network which includes multiple Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors distributors. The company recently expanded into the St. Louis, Missouri market with Folsom Beverage Company and will launch in Schnucks, Hy-Vee, Dierbergs, Walmart and Circle K in the region. In Idaho, Yerbaé added Hayden Beverage Company and in Indiana they have activated Hedinger Beverage Company and Pure Beverage Company.

“We’re continuing to expand our footprint around each of our beachheads we have all around the country,” Gibson said.

Natalie’s Expands Holistic Line with Publix

Three SKUs from the line will now be available at all 1,500 locations nationwide, with the brand’s Aura flavor (made with blood orange, strawberry and ashwagandha) joining two other varieties — Resilient and Purify — at existing stores.

The expansion brings the Holistic line’s total nationwide footprint to roughly 1,700 stores. The line launched last year and retails for $2.99 per 10 oz. bottle.

“The relationship between our gut health and our overall health is becoming increasingly evident and with that, we’ve seen heightened consumer interest in products that support a healthy balance both physically and mentally,” Natalie’s VP of marketing Natalie Sexton said in an email to BevNET. “We believe this line is poised to grow and already research and development for additional skus is well underway at Natalie’s.”
