Summer is officially upon us and brands are offering consumers a variety of new beverage options for the warmer months ahead, such as Owen’s Craft Mixers’ collaboration with Barstool Sports and a new zero sugar CBD sports drink from Defy. Sparkling tea brand Minna released its newest flavor, Cherry Cacao Green Tea, made with unsweetened tea Fair Trade tea and organic ingredients. The new flavor is available in 12 oz. cans on the brand’s website for $28 per 12-pack or $25 with monthly subscriptions, as well as on Amazon.
Kombucha maker GT’s expanded its Synergy line with the launch of Golden Pineapple, made with organic pineapple juice, tart lemon and fresh sage. The new flavor launch coincided with the kick-off of the brand’s new summer campaign, #LetYourLightShine.
CBD sports drink brand DEFY launched DEFY ZERO, a line of CBD performance drinks with no added sugar, enhanced with coconut water, electrolytes, vitamins and its proprietary blend of 20 mg broad-spectrum hemp extract with 0% THC. Containing 20 calories per 16 oz. bottle, DEFY ZERO is available online in three flavors: Lemonade, Mixed Berry and Orange Mango.
Elemental Beverage Co.
Massachusetts’ Elemental Beverage Co. collaborated with Los Angeles’ Dayglow Coffee on its first Snapchilled Coffee Series, which features six coffee roasters from across the world: La Cabra (Denmark), Morgon (Sweden), Talormade (Norway), Jiribilla (Mexico), Lüna (Canada), and Coffee Collective (Denmark).
Skincare brand Cocokind expanded into beverages this month with the release of functional vegan drink mixes. The mixes are available in three varieties -- Morning Mocha (adaptogenic latte for a morning boost), Detox Chlorophyll (cleansing tonic for digestion and skin health) and Sleep C (calming tonic to promote sleep) -- online in trial kits of two packs per SKU for $9, 15-packs for $22 and 30-scroop jars for $30.
Owen's Craft Mixers
Owen’s Craft Mixers collaborated with Barstool Sports on a new co-branded non-alcoholic cocktail mixer, The Barstool Transfusion Mix By Owen’s. The mixer is lightly carbonated and made with pure cane sugar, real grape juice and natural flavors, launching in stores and online in 4-packs of 8.5 oz. cans on July 8.
Rebbl added two new flavors to its Sparkling Prebiotic Tonics line: Tropical Twist and Lemon Lime. Both are available at Whole Foods for a suggested retail price of $3.49 per 15 oz. bottle.
Perrier has expanded its carbonated mineral water offerings with the launch of a new flavor, Pineapple, containing zero calories and no sweeteners. It has hit shelves at Target for $5.29 per 10-pack of 8.45 oz. slim cans, and is also available on Amazon.
Sports drink brand NOOMA’s first product line extension is Organic Pre Workout Energy, featuring an adaptogen blend of ginseng, maca, cordyceps and ashwagandha, with no added sugar. Available in four flavors -- Dragon Fruit, Lemon Lime, Pineapple Mango and Tangerine -- each 12 oz. sleek can contains 15 calories and 120 mg of caffeine.
Philadelphia-based coffee maker La Colombe launched a Cold Brew On Tap Fridge Pack, containing one gallon of dark-roasted Brazilian Single-Origin cold brew, available on the brand’s website for $34.
The Good Glow
New wellness beverage brand The Good Glow’s first launch is a 2 oz. wellness shot made with pure distilled water, organic raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar and organic lemon juice, lime juice and ginger. Formulated without any added sugar or sweeteners, The Good Glow’s ACV wellness shots are sold exclusively direct-to-consumer via its website in 3-packs ($10), 7-packs ($22) and 14-packs ($39).
AVEC is a new premium mixer brand made with all-natural juices, botanicals and spices. Each carbonated flavor -- Jalapeño & Blood Orange, Grapefruit & Pomelo, Yuzu & Lime, Ginger and Hibiscus & Pomegranate -- contains less than four grams of sugar. The line is available for nationwide shipping in 6-packs of 8 oz. cans for $20.
RISE Brewing Co.
Nitro cold brew coffee company RISE Brewing Co. launched its first tea product, London Fog, a canned Nitro Earl Grey Tea Oat Milk Latte. The nitrogen-infused oat milk latte with black tea also features the flavor of organic Bergamot oranges and will be available online and in retailers this summer in single 7 oz. cans, 4-packs and 12-packs.
Hydration mix Hydrant added two new flavors to its Rapid Hydration Mix line: Iced Tea Lemonade and Fruit Punch. Both flavors are available online $37.49 or as part of the monthly subscription program for $29.99 per 30-pack bag.
Shire City Herbals
Massachusetts-based Fire Cider maker Shire City Herbals rolled out a new look for its range of spicy apple cider vinegar tonics. After over 10 years in business, the updated packaging put Shire City Herbals’ “brand ethos and all-organic ingredients front and center, while building a modern canvas for new flavors and products,” said co-founder Dana. St. Pierre in a press release.
Laird Superfood rolled out limited edition single-serve versions of its Original Superfood Creamer. The shelf-stable creamer packets are sold online for $12.95 per 12-pack.
Feel Good Superfoods
Feel Good Organic Superfoods launched Feel Good Organic Superwater, containing 27 organic superfoods with no added sugar or artificial preservatives. The new product is available in four flavors -- Blue Raspberry, Orange Mango, Piña Colada and Watermelon -- in 4-packs and 12-packs of 16 oz. bottles.
Premium craft soda brand Jones Soda announced the launch of limited-edition “Messages of Hope” cream soda labels featuring inspirational images created by consumers, debuting in early July with a separate six-bottle series for both the U.S. and Canada.
Rock da Rooster
Sriracha brand Rock da Rooster partnered with tomato product maker Red Gold Foods to launch its new Original Sriracha Seasoned Bloody Mary Mix. The mix will be available for purchase in stores and online later this summer for a suggested retail price of $5.99 per 32 oz. bottle.
G FUEL partnered with SEGA of America, Inc. on a new crossover flavor, Sonic’s Peach Rings, available in 16 oz. cans on the brand’s website in August. The peach gummy-flavored energy drink will also be for sale to customers in the U.S. and Canada in powdered form, in 40-serving tubs and limited-edition collectors boxes.
The latest flavor launch from kids vitamin enhanced beverage brand KidsLuv is Peach Me, I’m Orange, containing zero sugar, 10 calories, 2 grams of carbs and nine vegan vitamins and minerals in each serving. Packaged in an 8 oz. recyclable, resealable, straw-free drink carton, the new flavor can be purchased on Amazon or the brand’s website.
Sweetener brand Splenda launched Splenda Diabetes Care Shakes, a line of no added sugar shakes specifically designed to help manage blood sugar and support the needs of people managing diabetes and prediabetes. Available in Milk Chocolate, French Vanilla and Strawberry Banana flavors, Splenda Diabetes Care Shakes will be available online on Amazon, Walmart and Sam’s Club as well as in-store at retailers including H-E-B, Winn-Dixie, BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket, Lowes Foods and Food City in 6-packs for $9.99 in stores and online and 24-packs online only for $29.99.
Zero sugar soda brand Virgil’s launched a limited edition Summer Squad Party Pack to support social distancing, which includes 10 cans of soda and a collection of 10 colorful koozies marked 1 to 10. The limited edition Summer Squad Party Pack is sold online for $14.99.
Sparkling Ice rolled out new flavors for two of its lines this month, both of which are available at retailers nationwide. Coconut Limeade is the newest addition to its flagship sparkling flavored water line, while Cherry Vanilla is the newest flavor in its Sparkling Ice+Caffeine line.
