Review: Lapo’s Limoncello Spritz Is Another Zero-Proof Classic

Lapo’s Limoncello Spritz

Lapo’s is moving its zero-proof cocktail lineup outside of Negronis with Limoncello Spritz. Packaged in an 8.4 ounce can with 25 calories and 6 grams of added sugar in each, the drink delivers a light, citrus-forward profile with enough botanical complexity and bitterness to maintain a cocktail-like experience. If you’re looking for something softer and less bitter than a non-alcoholic Negroni, this is a can’t-miss release.

Things that stand out:

  • We love the light body and gently sweet flavor, with layered notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange, cardamom, rosemary, and thyme. The citrus provides the initial brightness, while the herbs and spice give the drink depth without making it feel overly complicated.
  • A restrained bitterness emerges on the finish and helps connect the product to the experience of an alcoholic aperitivo. It is noticeably softer than a Negroni-style profile, creating a pleasant middle ground between sweet citrus refreshment and bitter adult flavor.
  • The packaging is a strong continuation of Lapo’s established visual identity. The yellow backdrop, oversized red Lapo’s branding, illustrated character, and vintage-inspired typography bring a polished retro aesthetic with strong shelf presence.
  • As a line extension, Limoncello Spritz feels distinct enough from the brand’s Negroni offering while remaining visually and conceptually cohesive.

Things to consider:

  • Unlike their NA negroni, which benefited from other players building awareness, this feels like one where Lapo’s is going to have to blaze its own trail. There could be some education hurdles to overcome or consumer sampling required to build demand.
