Ingredient will have a significant presence at the Toronto Section
MINNEAPOLIS – Canadian food industry professionals will find it easy to learn more about CoroWise® plant sterols during the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFT) Suppliers’ Night Table Top 2011, to be held in Toronto on Nov. 15. Cargill’s sponsorship of the event will prominently feature the CoroWise® plant sterols brand.
Benefits of the CoroWise® brand are important for food formulators to consider when developing new products. “One in three deaths in Canada is due to heart disease or stroke, which is why Cargill feels it is so important to have a strong presence at this event,” said Pam Stauffer, global marketing programs and communications manager, Cargill Health & Nutrition.
“We’ve experienced an increased interest in CoroWise® plant sterols among Canadian food formulators ever since Health Canada cleared the way for their use in certain foods last year, and affirmed the scientific evidence of a relationship between plant sterols and blood cholesterol lowering.” Food products in Canada containing CoroWise® plant sterols may now be eligible to carry a cholesterol-lowering health claim.
In addition to the CoroWise® brand, Cargill will feature many other health-promoting ingredients, including Zerose® erythritol and Oliggo-Fiber® inulin. “We look forward to speaking with food industry professionals about our full range of ingredients that make it simpler than ever for food and beverage formulators to help consumers live healthier lives.”
