Pittsburgh, Prepare to Kick Off Summer with an Indulgently N.A. Experience
Mt. Lebanon's Mike Poggi introduces a genuine craft beer that's indulgently non-alcoholic and bursting with flavor – and attitude.
Pittsburgh, PENNSYLVANIA (Tues., May 26, 2026) – A new Pittsburgh-based craft beer is hitting the local market, and it’s non-alcoholic — but hold your assumptions. Virtue Signal Brewing Co. was founded by beer lovers with a mission to change the conversation around non-alcoholic (N.A.) beer by creating not just the best N.A. beer, but some of the best-tasting and best-drinking beers, period. The company’s first three brews are now available locally at select beer outlets and restaurants (see list below).
Behind the brand is Mike Poggi, who grew up in Somerset, PA, and now lives in Mt. Lebanon with his family. A prolific hop head with a discerning palate, Poggi was underwhelmed by the watery, skunky, uninspired flavors and lack of body that he found among existing N.A. beers — so much so that he was driven to create something significantly better.
Poggi founded Virtue Signal with a goal of delivering an honest-to-goodness craft beer experience, just without the alcohol. Virtue Signal developed a purpose-driven recipe and specialized fermentation process for a beer designed to be non-alcoholic from the start, allowing all of the flavor, aroma and full-bodied drinking experience to shine through. The result is three bold, sinfully indulgent beers made for the most discerning craft drinkers.
- Presumed Innocent West Coast-Style IPA: Let people assume you’re trying to be good by drinking an N.A. beer, while instead, you brazenly cross the line to indulge without consequence. Presumed Innocent combines the sticky malt backbone and abundant hop character of the most renowned high-octane IPAs, no alcohol needed. This West Coast-style IPA, with a heavy hand of El Dorado, Centennial and Amarillo hops, delivers classic notes of zested citrus, fresh pine and tropical fruit.
- Boujee Bliss Belgian-Style Wheat: Too often, N.A. beers are inferior in taste. Not Boujee Bliss. Break out the good crystal for this uncompromising Belgian-style wheat. Subtle floral citrus hop notes are reinforced with a signature kiss of orange peel, and soft wheat notes provide an effervescent, pillowy feel on the palate. The entire ensemble is so damn refined, you’ll want to check your privilege between each sip just to be safe.
- No Clucks Given Vanilla Dark: Our rooster has some serious clucking attitude, and no time for weak flavor or even weaker judgments. This big, bold vanilla porter-style owes its deep color and rich notes of chocolate, coffee and caramel to a carefully selected blend of malts, combined with cold-extracted Madagascar Bourbon vanilla to fortify its silky, full-body flavor. Never give a cluck, and never apologize for your choice of drink again!
And what’s with the name? Poggi explains, “The name Virtue Signal is intentionally provocative and meant to change the narrative around and perception of N.A. beers. The virtue we are signalling? Never compromise on flavor. Never try to fit in. Never apologize. In short: Never hide your good taste.”
