Manhattan, N.Y. – Inko’s LLC, the first beverage company solely dedicated to producing 100% natural Ready-To-Drink white iced teas, today announced the availability of its fourth and fifth flavors-Inko’s Blueberry White Tea and Inko’s Honeydew White Tea.
The announcement comes on the heels of the impressive “Best Sweetened and Unflavored Iced Tea” crowning for the company’s Original White Tea at the Take Me 2 Tea Expo’s inaugural “Iced Tea Shake-Off” competition, which was held at the Las Vegas Hilton in late March 2004.
Bottled in 16-ounce stippled glass, both Inko’s Blueberry and Inko’s Honeydew are lightly sweetened brews-less than 60 calories per bottle-made with delicate, rare white tea and 100% all-natural blueberry and honeydew extracts. Inko’s Blueberry captures the plump taste of ripe blueberries, while Inko’s Honeydew emulates the sweet essence of fresh honeydew melon. As always, all Inko’s teas are devoid of any bitter or grassy aftertaste.
Continuing medical research is being conducted to examine the potential health benefits of white tea and some studies show that white tea has a higher level of antioxidants than green tea, potentially making it a superior cancer fighter. These findings are an important reason why Inko’s LLC was created. And, to do its part, Inko’s continues to contribute philanthropically to a number of charities, including the American Cancer Society and the Association For Support Of Kids With Cancer.
“No matter how much I inadvertently make mistakes with this company, it continues to grow,” said Andy Schamisso, Inko’s founder and president. “This bullet-proof quality has nothing to do with me and everything to do with our employee partners, our distributors, our retail partners and, last but not least, our educated consumer partners who keep us going with those great phone calls and messages to our website.”
Now found in 25 states-from Maine to California-Inko’s White Teas have penetrated the shelves of over 900 upscale supermarkets, gourmet/health food stores, delis, cafes and restaurants. Inko’s is now available to consumers at all Wegmans Supermarkets (over 60 stores in the North East) and all Stop and Shop supermarkets (over 300 stores in the North East). Some other featured retail outlets where consumers can find Inko’s include: Whole Foods, Kings Supermarkets, D’Agastino’s Supermarkets, Bristol Farms, Central Market, Mollie Stone’s, PC Greens, GNC, Fairway, Citarella, My Organic Markets, Todaro Brothers, as well as Manhattan’s most famous independent movie house, Lincoln Plaza Cinema.
Inko’s White Teas were named the “Best Non-Carbonated Soft Drink of 2003” by the widely read and well-respected beverage industry watchdog, The Beverage Network (www.bevnet.com). The teas have also been featured in Self, Fitness and Stuff magazines, the Chicago Tribune, the San Diego Union Tribune, the New York Post’s famed “Page Six” and on TV segments including the nationally syndicated “Today Show.”
Established in 2002, Manhattan-based Inko’s LLC is dedicated to bringing the unique taste and health benefits of white tea to the types of people who would never allow themselves and/or their children to drink sugar-drenched beverages.
