Kohana Coffee Appoints New COO/CFO

AUSTIN, Texas — Kohana Coffee announced that Andrew Bergad has joined its leadership team as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer at the start of July.

Bergad is a forward thinking and innovative financial and operations executive with expertise in the consumer products, healthcare, technology and education industries. He has a track record of success in process improvement, financial reporting, forecasting, team building and business development which allows him to help companies reduce costs, increase profits and provide successful strategic solutions.

As an operational leader at Kohana Coffee, Bergad is committed to building relationships with retailers, brokers and vendors, while challenging everyone on Kohana’s team to provide innovative and winning strategies and solutions that ensure the brand’s leadership position in the cold brew coffee category.

Bergad most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Genesis Today, Inc., a progressive Austin-based nutrition company specializing in superfoods. He was the Chief Operating Officer at Vatterott Educational Centers, Vice President of Finance at Diageo and has consulted to the beverage industry. Mr. Bergad received his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management with a concentration in strategy, finance and marketing and is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics. He currently resides in Austin with his wife and son.
