TAKASAGO ANNOUNCES SPRING ’08 OPENING OF FLORIDA CITRUS CENTER

Rockleigh, New Jersey, February 5, 2008 – Takasago’s Global Management Team announced that Takasago Flavors, in partnership with Peace River Citrus Products Inc, will open its Takasago Citrus Center in Florida in the spring of 2008.

In making the announcement, it was explained that the venture further enhances Takasago’s capabilities to provide exceptional citrus flavors to manufacturers of food and beverages around the world. “It’s an important step for us, giving us greater consistency and quality in the development of new citrus flavor materials,” said Brian Buck, Vice President and General Manager, Takasago International Corp. (USA) Flavor Division.

Mr. Buck said that the citrus materials from the Florida Citrus Center will also be used internally for citrus flavor development.  Takasago anticipates that the upcoming manufacturing and availability of supplies from Takasago’s Florida Citrus Center will receive an enthusiastic welcome and response from Takasago’s worldwide food and beverage customer base. “Our global customers are always looking for innovative citrus tastes.  Using these materials in our own flavor development efforts, combined with the proprietary distillation and oil folding processes that will be employed at the Takasago Citrus Center, will allow us to come up with some breakthrough nuances in the citrus products we will be offering,” Mr. Buck stated.

The partnership with Peace River Citrus Products, Inc., one of the foremost citrus growers in Florida, reinforces Takasago’s commitment to the citrus area, strengthening relationships with growers. It was pointed out that relationships with growers as exemplified in this establishment of the new Florida-based Takasago Citrus Center would go a long way in Takasago’s ability to secure steady supplies of the very much in-demand citrus offerings.
