  • PepsiCo will be airing six 30-second ads total during this year’s Super Bowl, according to the AP. The ads will be selected from a pool of entries created by fans and those interested in participating can submit their ads from Sept. 27 through Nov. 15. Link
  • A new report from Technomic titled the Convenience Store Foodservice Consumer Trend Report reveals that 52 percent of consumers want more healthy food and beverage options in convenience stores. A further 48 percent of respondents found made-to-order offerings “highly appealing” Link

  • A new study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition revealed that in a recent study, adults who drank the most milk and had the highest vitamin D levels at 6 months lost more weight after 2 years than those who had little or no milk or milk products. Link
  • According to The Food Channel, a big 2010 beverage trend is a shift to teas, lemonades, fruity organic waters and carbonated fruit drinks instead of energy drinks. The observation was part of the channel’s 2010 snack trend list. Link
  • A new Mintel report, titled Attitudes Toward Sodium and High Fructose Corn Syrup Reduction – US – August 2010 revealed that 52 percent of Americans claim to avoid products in which the substance is listed as one of the first ingredients. Link
