RAMONA, CA (July 28, 2017) — Preiss Imports, a third-generation company specializing in the importing and marketing of international spirits, wines and culinary niche brands, has added La Fee Absinthe Parisienne, La Fee Absinthe Blanche, and La Fee NV Absinthe Verte to their portfolio of unique international spirits.
La Fee Absinthe Parisienne, Absinthe Blanche, and NV Absinthe Verte are distilled Absinthe spirits created with reverence and authenticity by La Fee’s Managing Director & Owner, George Rowley.
Rowley is credited with the world-wide modern revival of traditional Absinthe spirits. In 1998, upon return from the Czech Republic (and having experienced relics of the near-forgotten spirit), Rowley arrived in France with the express intention of the reversing the roughly eighty-year ban on Absinthe.
In partnership with Marie-Claude Delahay, founder and curator of Le Musee d l’Absinthe, Auvers-sur-Oise, France, the two set about to recreate the original 19th century recipe. Their success became La Fee, the first traditional Absinthe to be commercially produced since 1914, and has established the now international precedent for modern Absinthe production.
The delicate, Anise-flavored spirit derives its complexity from an array of distilled botanicals and culinary herbs. No longer a dubiously-regarded novelty, it’s developed a cult following of connoisseurs of fine spirits, and has become an essential component to the contemporary barkeep’s repertoire as a distinct and complex traditional bitter.
Preiss Imports currently carries the following from La Fee’s collection:
• La Fee Absinthe Parisienne – The classic, historic recipe revived by George Rowley and Marie-Claude Delahay, it is the First traditional absinthe distilled in France since the 1915 ban, based on a 19th century recipe. Refined blend of Grand Wormwood, Génépi, Fennel, Anise and other herbs and spices. 68% alc/vol. Limited availability.
• La Fee Absinthe Blanche – Distilled with Grand Wormwood, Génépi, Fennel, Anise and other herbs and spices, the classic Blanche (clear) absinthe displays a more pronounced Fennel character, with less Anise. No sugar is required for the traditional serve, as Blanche has a naturally softer, sweeter character. 53% alc/vol.
• La Fee NV Absinthe Verte – A contemporary take on the classic French Absinthe, the NV Absinthe Verte has a lower alcohol conent, allowing for greater flexibility in serving options. Distilled with Grand Wormwood. 38% alc/vol.
