Olipop Brings Soda to Sweetgreen
Olipop has been clear about its mission to convert traditional soda drinkers to its low-calorie, functional soft drinks, an effort that now extends to foodservice through a new partnership with sweetgreen.
This week the prebiotic soda brand announced that two SKUs – Vintage Cola and Lemon Lime – will now be sold in all 998 sweetgreen locations across the U.S. priced at $3.50 per 12 oz. can. According to a LinkedIn post, this marks the first soda sold at the fast-casual eatery, which offers a variety of salad and bowls.
“We’re very excited about our recent nationwide launch into sweetgreen,” said Ben Goodwin, Olipop’s CEO, co-founder and formulator. “Convenience to our consumers is integral to OLIPOP, which encompasses everything from grocery stores to fast-casual restaurants. Given the harmony between our brand goals to deliver delicious and healthy options at scale, this partnership was a no-brainer.”
Soylent Expands With Meijer
Weeks after its acquisition by Starco Brands, Soylent is growing its footprint in the Midwest via an expanded partnership with Meijer Grocery Stores, which will see 4-packs of its flagship nutrition shakes enter 219 chain locations and single-serve bottles move into all 260 stores.
“Our expanded Meijer partnership advances Soylent’s mission of making healthy and complete nutrition accessible nationwide,” said Demir Vangelov, Soylent’s CEO, in a press release. “Meijer customers are increasingly seeking great-tasting, plant-based products. Soylent’s product line is delicious and scientifically developed to provide the perfect amount of vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates and protein that the body needs – all in one convenient package.”
Ketone-IQ Shots Enter Sprouts
When we profiled functional drink brand Ketone-IQ last October, the brand was just beginning to roll out its single-use 2 oz. shots (10 grams of ketones) to national fitness chain Equinox’s Earth Bar, which marked its first step outside of niche channels like outdoor retailers and military exchanges where it had been cultivating a consumer audience that may have already been familiar with the benefits of ketones.
That growth continues this week with the brand’s launch into all 389 Sprouts Farmers Market locations.
