BooKoo Beverages, Inc. has signed a distribution agreement with Charlotte-NC based Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated to sell its energy drink portfolio. Coca-Cola Consolidated’s nearly 20 million consumers can now enjoy BooKoo Wild Berry, Wild Berry Zero Carb, Citrus, Bite and Jugo flavors in 16-ounce cans and Wild Berry and Citrus in 5.75-ounce cans.

“These are terrific products and we are excited to add BooKoo Beverages to our growing energy portfolio,” said Bill Elmore, Coke Consolidated President and COO. “We believe a strong line-up of brands is critical to win in the energy category and the addition of BooKoo to our existing brands, Full Throttle and Tab Energy, positions us well for future growth.”

“Our commitment to grass-roots marketing as opposed to scale marketing, coupled with our ‘best in taste’ product line will allow our partnership to grow the entire portfolio of energy drinks distributed by Coca-Cola Consolidated,” said Dan Lee, BooKoo Beverages CEO.

Founded in 2004, BooKoo Beverages has made significant contributions in the fast growing energy drink category. They were the first to introduce a 24oz can in 2004. Soon thereafter, a compact, super-concentrated 5.75oz can, BooKoo SHOT, was introduced to consumers in search of a quick boost of energy without the bulk. With a growing number of distributors as well as a top 10 ranking in 2006 in the U.S. Energy Drink category (as measured by A.C. Nielsen), BooKoo is definitely on the right strategy.

Coca-Cola Consolidated is the second largest Coca-Cola bottler in the country and has a consumer base of 20 million throughout the southeastern United States.
