In case you needed a reminder, Natural Products Expo West has returned for the first time in two years, bringing together brands and entrepreneurs from across the CPG industry to showcase the latest new products, innovations, technology and trends. BevNET and NOSH will have ongoing coverage from the event over the coming days, but here’s just a quick look at a handful of the new releases from exhibiting companies, including Harmless Harvest, MALK and Sound.
Machu Picchu (Booth #N2048)
Organic beverage maker Machu Picchu will be sharing both its natural energy drinks (120 mg of caffeine and B vitamins) and low-calorie energy seltzers (40 mg caffeine). The former is available in four SKUs (classic, pineapple mango, zero-sugar pineapple blueberry and zero-sugar ginger peach) and the latter in two SKUs (lemon lime and blood orange flavors). The energy drink is available for pre-order on machupicchu.energy (MSRP $2.99) and via Gopuff, and is set to enter Erewhon Market in April and Central Market (H-E-B) by early Spring.
Harmless Harvest (Booth #5261)
Having introduced smoothies and yogurts in recent years, organic coconut-based CPG brand Harmless Harvest is keeping things relatively simple with its latest release: Coconut Water with Pulp. Priced at $4.99 per 16 oz. bottle, Coconut Water with Pulp is set to launch at select Whole Foods Market locations and Target this May.
Malk (Booth #1804)
Slated to hit shelves this spring, organic plant-based milk brand MALK’s newest release is Chocolate Oat MALK, which will be available in 32 oz. multiserve bottles and, as with all its products, will contain no gums, fillers, oils or carrageenan.
Uncle Matt’s (Booth #4958)
Organic juice maker Uncle Matt’s has a full slate of new releases debuting at Expo West, starting with Matt50, a function-forward orange juice that contains “half the sugar and calories as regular OJ” and is boosted with 100% DV Vitamin C, plus prebiotics and probiotics. Matt50 is available now in 52 oz. bottles for $6.49 at Whole Foods Market and Sprouts Farmers Market stores nationwide. The company is also rolling out two no-sugar-added lemonade juice box products for kids (not pictured), available in Original and Strawberry Lemonade, sweetened with stevia and boosted with 150% DV Vitamin C, 25% DV Vitamin D and Zinc. The suggested retail price for an 8-pack of 6.7 oz. boxes is $4.99.
Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Co. (Booth #N1719)
The Florida-based premium juice maker is preparing for summer with the launch of two new lemonades, Mango Lemonade and Guava Lemonade, launching later this month in 16 oz. and 64 oz. sizes.
Nirvana (Booth N2131)
Nirvana is growing its roster of functional waters with the launch of Nirvana HMB + Vitamin D3, which aims to offer consumers both muscle recovery and immunity benefits. The line will be rolling out to stores in Q2 and Q3 of this year.
Sound Sparkling Tea (Booth #N746)
Sound is teaming with health influencer Kelly LeVeque for a new limited edition release in its line of organic tea and botanical-infused sparkling waters: Lemon with Thyme & White Tea, crafted as a crisp, citrusy flavor based on lemon-lime sodas. The new flavor is launching today at select retailers including Whole Foods and Erewhon, and online at drinksound.com and on Amazon.
Waterloo (Booth #N228)
The next two releases in Waterloo’s ever-expanding roster of flavored sparkling waters are Cherry Limeade and Blackberry Lemonade, set for release later this month at H-E-B, Central Market, Hy-Vee and Whole Foods.
