The Block Distilling Co Releases Apéritif

The Block Distilling Co has unveiled its latest creation: a new apéritif, a distinctly unique local interpretation of the iconic and bitter liqueur.

Developed in the fifth century to extract botanicals for medicinal purposes, apéritifs are now used to open the palate before a meal and have evolved into sophisticated and complex spirits commonly enjoyed in cocktails such as the Spritz or Negroni. The Block Distilling Co's new apéritif boasts bright citrus notes, a touch of floral and spice notes, bitterness from orris and gentian, and a touch of cane sugar sweetness, creating a harmonious blend that is both refreshing and complex. Available in 750ml bottles for $34 in their RiNO tasting room, The Block’s apéritif is wonderful over ice and in cocktails like It Does Match The Drapes, a bright and floral offering made with The Block’s Pink Gin and Apéritif, lemon, blood orange, rose, spices, and egg white.
